The town of Blowing Rock, North Carolina is a neat, little tourist town. The town has the essential ingredients for runners including: great pizza, a pub, ice cream, two wine stores, restaurants, churches, and plenty of hotels. Of course, the biggest attraction is that the town is adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway, providing pedestrian access to Moses H. Cone park.
For those who have not visited Blowing Rock, let me assure you that this is a fantastic place for running -- except when the snow and ice descend on the trails.
Here are a few select distances from the streets of Blowing Rock. There is also a map of the Mayview Madness course located on the Blue Ridge Conservancy website (a link is included on the Races page).
