It may be a little cold right now, but the trails are in beautiful shape. Come play outside before winter truly sets in!
This website has been created as a labor of love: A love of running and a love of God. It is also offered as an appreciation for the beauty to be found in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
I have started measuring running distances in the Blowing Rock, NC area. Although park signs and maps have distances listed, the published distances are not as accurate as I would like -- some are long, some are short, few are accurate to one-tenth of a mile. For more information on the standards that I am using, check out About this project.
As I gather more information, I will continue to update the site. So far, I have obtained distances for all of the carriage trails in Moses H. Cone Park and most of the single-track trails in Julian Price Park and part of the Tanawha Trail, all of which are parts of the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are also a couple of streets in Blowing Rock that have been measured.
